A Life That Doesn’t Slow Down
Ask Jason what a typical day looks like, and he’ll tell you there isn’t one.
He might start his morning at The Eleanor Room, reviewing events and making last-minute menu updates, then head to a client meeting to plan a kitchen transformation. Later, he could be at a Village Board meeting—serving as Greendale Village President—or cheering on his daughter at a volleyball game.
“I enjoy the rush of constantly being on the go and challenged,” he says.
Balancing multiple businesses, leadership roles, and family life isn’t easy, but for Jason, it works because everything is rooted in passion. With strong support from his family, who are involved in many aspects of his businesses, he’s built a life that allows him to stay deeply engaged in both work and community.
A Team That Makes the Difference
At J&J Contractors I, LLC, Jason is quick to shift the spotlight away from himself and onto his team.
“Our people really are what makes us unique,” he says.
That energy shows up in every project. The team isn’t just executing work; they’re invested in the full journey. From the initial concept and design to demolition and the final reveal, they take pride in guiding homeowners through each phase.
“When your work is more than just a job, that impact is felt,” Jason explains.
It’s that mindset where craftsmanship meets genuine care, that continues to set J&J apart.
Why the Tour of Homes Matters
If there’s one place where that passion is on full display, it’s the Tour of Homes.
Jason has been a consistent participant for years, and for good reasons.
“The Tour is a truly unique experience,” he says. “It gives homeowners the chance to get up close and really see the craftsmanship and quality we can bring to their home.”
Unlike a home show or a portfolio of photos, the Tour allows people to physically walk through completed projects, to see the details, feel the space, and imagine what’s possible in their own homes.
“It helps homeowners take that final leap—from thinking about it to saying, ‘let’s go for it.’”
Planning Ahead and Doing It Right
Part of what makes Jason so successful with the Tour is how early he starts thinking about it.
Rather than treating it as an afterthought, he introduces the idea early in the sales process, identifying projects that are a strong fit based on location, scope, and design.
From there, it becomes a team effort.
J&J works closely with homeowners to prepare for the experience, even incorporating Tour-related planning into contracts. As the event approaches, the team shifts into full preparation mode—handling everything from detailed punch lists and final touch-ups to neighbor outreach and coordinated marketing efforts.
Internally, they build out staffing plans and schedules to ensure every detail is covered during the Tour weekend.
It’s thoughtful. It’s intentional. And it shows.
Investing in the Future of the Industry
Beyond the Tour, Jason and his team have also played a role in NARI initiatives like the Spring Home and Remodeling Show cabin project, helping bring real-world experience to students entering the trades.
For Jason, that kind of involvement matters.
“It’s a great opportunity for the next generation to get exposed to the trades and gain hands-on experience,” he says. “Those are skills that will stay with them for life.”
It’s also a way to continue building awareness around NARI as a trusted resource for both professionals and homeowners.
The Value of Being Involved
As a NARI Milwaukee member since 2000, Jason has seen firsthand how involvement in the organization strengthens both businesses and industry. For him, NARI membership is more than just an affiliation, it’s a signal of credibility and trust.
“It’s one more level of security for our customers,” he explains, reinforcing the value of working with professionals who are committed to high standards and ongoing involvement in the industry.
His Advice? Just Do It
When asked what he would tell other members considering getting involved—or putting a home on the Tour, Jason doesn’t hesitate:
“Do it. You won’t regret it.”
From the exposure to the connections to the overall experience, he believes the value speaks for itself.
And based on the impact he’s made year after year, it’s hard to argue with that.
