History

1961

NARI Milwaukee, Inc. was chartered on July 12, 1961, as the Home Improvement Council of Greater Milwaukee, a local chapter of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).  Fifteen firms in the home remodeling industry joined together to establish the local chapter. It was the fourth chapter in the nation to be chartered and remains the 3rd oldest.

1982

In May 1982, the NHIC merged with the National Remodelers Association (NRA), an organization with its roots in the National Recovery Act of 1933, to form the organization known today as the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).  At the same time the local chapter changed its name to identify with the new NARI affiliation.  The chapter became the Milwaukee NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc.

1993

NARI Milwaukee also has a charitable arm - The NARI Milwaukee Foundation, Inc. incorporated in 1993.  The Foundation strives to be the leading advocate in the remodeling and home improvement industry.  Through an extensive network of donors and volunteers, the Foundation invests in people to support and strengthen the industry.  The Foundation holds yearly fundraising events to raise funds and also accepts individual and corporate contributions to support their efforts.
