2012 WRA Achievement Awards

Affiliate Organization of the Year: AmeriSign & Graphics
The Affiliate Organization of the Year is presented to a member company – not directly in the home improvement and remodeling industry – that has supported the local association in its business activities and has enhanced its operations. AmeriSign & Graphics has served as a sponsor for association events, staff has served on the association's Marketing Committee, and the company has completed all chapter printing projects on time.

Bill Bobrowitz Image Award: Jack Loppnow, Robertson Ryan & Associates
The Bill Bobrowitz Image Award recognizes an individual or organization that has contributed to the enhancement of the industry's image. Jack Loppnow has played an active role on the Membership Committee, participating as a task force chair, and assisting at association recruiting blitz events.

Certified Professional of the Year: Chris Egner, MCR, UDCP, Chris Egner Design-Build-Remodel/Four Seasons Sunrooms
The Certified Professional of the Year recognizes a person who's been a Certified Professional for at least three years and has continued to excel in the field, while sharing professional experience and expertise with other association members. Chris Egner earned his Certified Remodeler designation in 1998 and achieved Universal Design Certified Remodeler status through NARI in March of 2011, and he has been giving back to the association ever since. He has been an active participant in the Education and Certification Committee, as well as a regular participant in association consumer panel discussions.

Distributor of the Year: A. Fillinger, Inc.
The Distributor of the Year is an honor that recognizes a member company that has demonstrated a strong commitment to NARI, to the remodeling industry, and to our community. A. Fillinger has been an association member since 1991. The company is a product donor to the Milwaukee/NARI Foundation Rummage Sale, sponsor for the Golf Outing, a prize donor to the membership recruiting blitz, Great Giveaway participant, a supplier to a number of members, and company representatives were on the board of directors, the technology task force, and helped judge the Minnesota award entries.

Mary Fox-Hagner Lifetime Achievement Award: Jim Klappa, CGR, jdj builders, Inc.
The Mary Fox-Hagner Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizes the association's executive director from 1993 – 2005. This award is bestowed on a person who has been in the remodeling industry for at least 20 years and a member of NARI for at least seven years. Jim Klappa has served on association committees, including serving as a committee chair for a number of years, and he also was a Milwaukee/NARI board member.

Marvin Johnson Meritorious Service Award: Ronna Bromberg Pachefsky, Plaster Gallery
The Marvin Johnson Meritorious Service Award honors a member who has shown exceptional leadership, devotion, dedication, and accomplishment on NARI's behalf. Ronna Bromberg Pachefsky has played an important role in working on various programs for the Membership Committee, as well as serving as a board member for the Milwaukee/NARI Foundation.

Media Outlet of the Year:
The Media Outlet of the Year Award recognizes a media organization that assists Milwaukee/NARI in its effort to provide home improvement and remodeling resources to consumers throughout the area while enhancing the association's image and community presence. JSOnline is recognized for providing competitive rates and a host of value added features, including bonus coverage. This media outlet has been a leader in getting area consumers to visit the Milwaukee/NARI website.

Professionalism Award: Tom Callen, Callen Construction, Inc.
The recipient is recognized for exceptional devotion, dedication, and accomplishment to the home improvement and remodeling industry through efforts to promote NARI as a professional organization on the local level while at the same time serving as a tremendous resource for the community. A member for more than 25 years, Tom Callen has been a productive and an extremely involved participant, serving on the board of directors of both the chapter and Foundation, while his company has been an event sponsor and his staff has earned various NARI Certifications.

Gordy Ziglinski "Spirit of Education" Award: Ken Connor, CR, Connor Remodeling & Design, Inc.
The Gordy Ziglinski "Spirit of Education" Award recognizes excellence in training and education in the industry in general, and Milwaukee/NARI in particular. Ken Connor recipient has played an extremely active role at the local level over the last several years, sharing his passion for education with those who were looking to become certified, while helping those that had achieved Certification better promote their experience to area homeowners.
