Affiliate Organization of the Year: AmeriCU Mortgage
The Affiliate Organization of the Year is presented to a member company – not directly in the home improvement and remodeling industry – that has supported the local association in its business activities and has enhanced its operations. AmeriCU Mortgage has served as a sponsor for association events, staff has volunteered for association activities, and content has been submitted for question and answer columns.
Bill Bobrowitz Image Award: Nick Kerzner, CR, CKBR,
Kerzner Remodeling & Construction
The Bill Bobrowitz Image Award recognizes an individual or organization that has contributed to the enhancement of the industry’s image. Nick Kerzner has played an active role on the board of directors, in the Vision 2020 Task Force and the Strategic Plan, and as chair of the Marketing Committee, where he often serves as a spokesperson for the association.
Certified Professional of the Year: Bingo Emmons, CR, Creative Construction of Wisconsin, Inc.
The Certified Professional of the Year Award recognizes a person who’s been a Certified Professional for at least three years and has continued to excel in the field, while sharing professional experience and expertise with other association members. Bingo Emmons earned his Certified Remodeler designation in 2009 and he has been giving back to the association ever since, serving as an instructor during the training program, successfully working with others to achieve Certified Professional status, and helping to plan the annual Remodelers & Suppliers Expo.
Distributor of the Year: ProSource Wholesale Floorcovering
The Distributor of the Year is an honor that recognizes a member company that has demonstrated a strong commitment to NARI, to the remodeling industry, and to our community. ProSource Wholesale Floorcovering has been an association member since 2009. The company is a product donor to the Milwaukee/NARI Foundation Rummage Sale, sponsor and product donor to the Golf Outing and Holiday Party, the company is a supplier to a number of members, and its representative is chair of the program committee.
Mary Fox-Hagner Lifetime Achievement Award: Mark Brick, CR, B&E General Contractors, Inc.
The Mary Fox-Hagner Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the association’s executive director from 1993 – 2005. This award is bestowed on a person who has been in the remodeling industry for at least 20 years and a member of NARI for at least seven years. Mark Brick is a Certified Remodeler, has served on several association committees, and he also was a Milwaukee/NARI board member and executive officer, including a two-year term as president.
Marvin Johnson Meritorious Service Award: Diane Krueger, CR, Carl Krueger Construction, Inc.
The Marvin Johnson Meritorious Service Award honors a member who has shown exceptional leadership, devotion, dedication, and accomplishment on NARI’s behalf. Diane Krueger has done a tremendous job representing not only the local chapter, but NARI National as well. Tonight’s recipient was instrumental in the development of the new Strategic Plan, and did an excellent job guiding the association over the last two years.
Media Outlet of the Year: Clear Channel Radio
This award recognizes a media organization that assists Milwaukee/NARI in its effort to provide home improvement and remodeling resources to consumers throughout the area while enhancing the association’s image and community presence. Clear Channel Radio provides competitive rates and a host of value added features, including complimentary airtime, website links, and interview opportunities. The station’s newscasters regularly seek out Milwaukee/NARI members to serve as sources for stories, providing opportunities for the association to educate consumers regarding various home improvement and remodeling activities.
Professionalism Award: Jim Pitzen, CR, Pitzen Design, Ltd.
The recipient is recognized for showing exceptional devotion, dedication, and accomplishment to the home improvement and remodeling industry through efforts to promote NARI as a professional organization on the local level while at the same time serving as a tremendous resource for the community. A member since September 1999, Jim Pitzen has been a productive and an extremely involved participant in the chapter’s affairs and its continued development.
